Cougar R8 RIB’s are formidable and not only deliver in performance and handling but also in great looks and fine ergonomics.  The deck space and access throughout the RIB is very good and the seating is comfortable, even when the conditions are a little big.  Storage in the Cougar R8 RIB is good and accessed easily with each seat providing room for bits and bobs.

The layout on the Cougar R8 RIB sees two people sitting on the wider front console seat, with four more on the sculptured jockey seats and then three more comfortably placed across the back.  All the seating is very supportive and offers enough protection to run the boat with children aboard.  The walkways from front to back are good and wide and easy to navigate.

At the helm of this Cougar R8 RIB, you immediately notice the striking carbon fibre dash panel which has been installed to hold this boat’s electronics.  These include a Garmin EchoMap 451 GPS  / depth sounder unit, a Simrad RS10 VHF / DSC unit, Fusion music system and the Honda Digital engine gauges.  All very swish indeed.

There is an opportunity to build some value back in to this Cougar R8 by leaning her more to toward a leisure boat set up.  It is not that she would not do this well but she could just benefit from having some of her sharper edges smoothed out. Adding an “A” frame and some teak would transform her.
